If you’re planning for a Barkada trip, something extreme yet laid back, trekking to Mt. Pinatubo would be an idea.

Mt. Pinatubo, which is found in Capas, Tarlac through the vast rough road, surrounded by rock formations and rigorous hiking trail. You’ll fall in love not only with the main attraction but the journey going to it as well.

How to get there:

From Manila

· Bus – From Cubao, choose from any bus station that has a route passing by Capas, Tarlac. (We took Five star Bus going to Alaminos, Pangasinan. We got off the bus at a Gas station and took a tricycle from there.

o Make sure that the bus be on its way on or before 2:30AM to make sure you arrive before 6AM at the Tourism Office.

· Van – There are various Travel Agencies which offers Van transfers included in their tour package, you’ll have options of 1. Any destination pick up – Capas Tourism Office – Back to destination pick up and 2. Going to a pick up point and joining other travelers.

From Capas

· Tricycle – From any point in Capas, you can take a tricycle and tell them that you’re going to the Tourism office. They can also take you to Hostels to make reservations, if you plan to extend your vacation. They usually charge 100php per person and they can fit 4pax including bulks of baggage.

Make sure to make your reservation, even a day before your trip, to make sure that you’ll be included in the tourism list of guests as they only allow a certain number of people per day to hike. (If you took a tour package, they’ll do this for you)
