A cute little story about a 6th grade class raising a pig in school to be eaten on their graduation day.
This story simply shows how children tries to figure things out for themselves, with only a tiny help from an adult. They learn what responsibility truly means and the importance of every little thing.
The story that starts up fun and comic then turns out to be melodramatic and moral filled story. Not only for children but for adults too, i suppose.
This true to life movie which happened in a Japanese elementary school will really melt your hearts. If you had taken care of a pet when you are young or even if you haven't; the effect of this movie would really be massive. Can you eat someone that you've raise? A chicken, a pig or even a cow. Though, most of them are being raised in a farm, the people who raise them, do they also feel how people who raise cats and dogs at home does. If they need to decide on how their pets lives should be. This are some questions that the movie has.
Are we really the ones who decides for other's life longevity? Is it Humans task to end or sustain lower forms of living things? Do we have that power? 6th graders are faced to this life questions that even adults has a hard time explaining.  They struggle on what to do with P-chan(the pig) before they graduate because of their attachment. Some suggested to eat it, but some disagree and said keep it. They ended up begging for a younger class to adopt it. An unexpected adoption from a 3rd grade class, surprised them in two ways. One, they are very young to take care of a full grown pig and two Yes, P-chan will live a little longer but the students may suffer the same experience they have in deciding what to do next..
Find out what fate the Pig will have in this adorable story ;)

Best line from the movie:
"Can we decide the length of life?"
