Noodles

She always plays Sara Bareilles the blessed unrest and sings on the top of her lungs anytime of the day when she feels sad. You'll catch her with a pot half empty, half full heating over her electric stove. Her storage cabinet will always have ramyeon, the certain kind that takes her hours at multiple korean stores before finding the right one. As the water starts to boil, you'll hear the packet opens. Slowly, as she puts the noodle in and sprinkle the flavor, you'll hear her again, pouring her heart out with every words that her lips mouth. She set the table, always just for one, with a glass filled with the coldest water and kim as her side dish. After a while, the smell of mild spiced seafood ramyeon escapes her widely opened windows. Those windows she never close. The music will stop, meaning everything's ready. She never eats on the counter when she's sad, sitting in front of nobody makes her feel everything she tried to run from more vivid. Truth is, she doesn't really like spicy food but everytime she eats this, something inside her feels a lot like home and she smiles like a kid. Somehow, the world is a little kinder, the day is a little bit brighter, her heart feels a little lighter and she feels a little less lonesome.
